TERMS & CONDITIONS

Registration

  • Applicant should register to their respective age group. (Age is counted base on the year of birth. Example, a male born in October 2001, his age is counted as 20. His age group category should be Male 20-29).

  • All enrollment must be completed on or before 7th October 2022 (1200 noon). Late registration will not be accepted.

  • If the participants provide incorrect information, fail to submit application form & pay for the entry fee, or fail to follow correct enrollment procedure, the Organizer reserves the right to reject their enrollment. All entry fee and additional donations are not refundable. No return, cancellation or transfer for all enrollments, including late and duplicate enrollments.

  • People who are pregnant or with chronic diseases, such as heart disease or high blood pressure, are not recommended to participate in the Event. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the Event.

  • Participants should make sure they are physically fit for the Event, and are fully aware that the Event requires physical exertion, and understand the risks involved in taking part in the Event. It is the sole responsibility of a participant to ensure that he/she is physically fit to participate in and complete the Event without any medical or other assistance. All participants are at their own risks and are responsible for their own safety. 

  • The Organizer reserves the right to limit and refuse any enrollment.

  • The Organizer reserves the right to contact participants for information regarding their enrollment.

  • Participants must agree to obey and accept the listed terms written in the Notes to Runners.

  • Participants must ensure that they are physically fit to join the event. The Organizer has the right to terminate or pause the participants if there is deemed to be any risk to their health. Participants must abide by this decision.

a. warrants and confirms to the Organizer that he/she is physically fit to participate in and complete his/her race without any medical or other assistance; and

b. agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer from

i. any injury or death suffered by the participant himself/herself or any other persons; and

ii. any damage to property as a result of him/her not being physically fit to participate in and complete the race.​

Timing Chips

 

  • Runners should fill in their personal details at the back of their bibs with a waterproof pen for emergency use.

  • During the race, runners should put on their bibs on their chest and ensure they are clearly visible to the race officials at all times without covering them with jackets. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify those who fail to comply.

  • As the timing chip is integrated at the back of the bib, do not fold the chip. Runners are required to cross the timing mats at the Start, Finish and designated areas. The Organizer cannot provide a completion time for the runner due to improper wearing or damage of the bib, or failing to cross the timing mats.

  • You need to show your bib during baggage storage/collection and carnival.

  • No bib and timing chips will be issued on the race day.

  • Entries, runners wristband, bibs, and timing chips are non-transferable. Violation will result in disqualification and no refund of entry fee will be entertained.

 

Luggage Storage

 

  • One-off luggage deposit service will be provided on event day for participants to store their personal belongings and collect them after the race.

  • Participants should be liable for any loss of the personal item. Participants are not advised to bring any valuable items.

  • Please write your number shown on the number bib on the luggage tag and attach them on the baggage provided by the Organizer.

  • The Organizer will only handle baggage with the official Luggage storage bag.

  • No luggage bag and tag will be provided on the race day.

  • Participants in different categories should store your baggage according to the opening hours of the baggage storage counters: 07:00am - 1:00pm.
     

Start Time & Procedure

  • FOODSPORT reserves the all rights to divide the participants into various starting groups. The groups will start at different time slots to avoid unnecessary congestion.

  • The temporary starting time is for reference only, the starting time to be announced at race kit collection will be final. Please stay tuned with our website for more updates.

  • In order to provide an orderly organized competition for participants, cut off times of each start time will be set for 5 minutes per heat. The access to the Start Area will be blocked by Race Officials to prevent further access of the late participants. No Official Time will be provided in such circumstances.

  • Race time limits
    1km - 15 minutes;
    3km - 25 minutes;
    10km - 80 minutes.

  • The track will be fully closed at 12:00pm. For those runners who fail to complete the race within the time limit, please follow the instructions of the officials and return to the finish line via the walkway.
     

Race Timing

  • All Races will be timed according to official time (gun time). 

  • Official Time / Gun Time: The time from the sound of the starter's signal to the time when the participant crosses the finishing line.
     

Track Conditions & Safety

  • Distance and direction signage will be placed along the route.

  • Water supply and first aid station will be positioned on the route.
     

Health and Safety Advice

  • Participants should make sure their health conditions are suitable for the race. Without sufficient rest or feeling unwell before the race, runners should seek medical advice in advance and consider not to race.

  • During the race, do seek help from the volunteers if you are feeling unwell.

  • Participants are advised to stop eating two hour before the race. You should also avoid foods that are too fatty or that have too much fiber. Eat carbohydrates to absorb energy.
     

Epidemic Prevention Arrangement

  

  • Corresponding epidemic prevention measures will be taken in accordance with the latest SAR government's policy.

  • The following is not allow to enter the venue:
    o The person who under compulsory quarantine and their "close contacts"
    o "Close contacts" of confirmed cases 14 days before the event
    o The person who has travelled abroad 30 days before the event

  • Corresponding epidemic prevention measures must be taken in accordance with the SAR government's policy.

  • All persons are required to wear a face mask; persons without a face mask will be denied entry into the venue. Temperature check / screening will be implemented at the entrances of the Exhibition venue. All persons with body temperature higher than 37.5°C and / or display respiratory symptoms will be not allowed to enter the venue and participate the event.

  • All visitors are required to make a health declaration during the booking process. On the day of the visit, all visitors will be asked to scan the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile app before entering the site. For more details, please refer to the government announcement of Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F) and Vaccine Pass.

  • Under the Vaccine Pass arrangement, all persons entering or remaining on specified premises must comply with the COVID-19 vaccination requirements as set out in the Annex, except under exempted scenarios.

  • Those who fail to complete the above procedures and present the Immunisation Card record will be denied entry to the venue and participate in the event.

  • If the organizer finds that the the participant have symptoms or fail to notify the Organizer at arrival, the organizer reserves the right to request the attendees to leave the event venue immediately and disqualify their race. No compensation or refund will be given for any losses, and the Organizer reserves the right to pursue them. In case of any disputes, the LUA Foundation reserves the right of final decision.

  • No food and beverage will be allowed inside the event venue.

  • Every participant must complete a health declaration form.

  • Sanitizers, disinfected mat will be provided in venue.

  • n response to the instability situation relating to the Coronavirus, we will pay high attention to the situation.  If the outbreak continues to spread closer to the event date, the Organizer reserves the final rights to cancel, postpone, shorten the event or changing the race format.

  • The arrangement will be updated according to the government's epidemic prevention requirements. All epidemic prevention arrangements are subject to email. Please keep close for updates in our emails.
      

Declaration by the Participants

  • By registering and joining this event, all participants declare and agree that:

  • His/her/their health conditions is/are suitable for participation of the event. Any person who is pregnant or suffering from any chronic disease such as heart disease or high blood pressure should not participate in the Event. All participants are urged to seek medical advice of their physical condition before participating in the Event.

  • He/she is voluntarily participating in the event and is willing to take all unexpected risks and responsibilities directly or indirectly relating to or arising from the event. The Organizer shall not be liable for any accident, loss, injury or death of the participants.

  • Participants are recommended to maintain personal hygiene and take preventive measures and to follow any additional health measures as seen necessary by the Organizer.

  • The Organizer reserves the rights to refuse any entry to participate for any inappropriate behavior.

  • The Organizer reserves the rights to cancel, postpone or make any kind of adjustment in the event.

Weather and

Air Quality

  • Participants are advised do take protective measures against different weather conditions on event day, such as applying sunscreen and wear appropriate clothing

  • Keep drinking plenty of water to recover the loss during the run.

  • Please take note of the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI), especially when the Health Risk Category reaches high, very high or serious. Please consult medical advice to decide whether to participate in outdoor activities.
     

Personal Information Collection Statement

 

  • The Organizer shall abide by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of the laws of Hong Kong.

  • The information you provided (including name, telephone number, email address and etc) will be used by the Organizer to promote its products and events, including (but not limited to) products, promotional activities, concessions, seminars, sports training, etc. If you do not wish your personal information be used for promotional purposes, please email  info@luacharityrun.com.hk, with the title of "Unsubscribe" or ”取消訂閱”.

  • Participants agree that the Organizer may use the participant’s photographs, name, audio and visual recordings and other personal data in any publicity or promotional materials as the Organizer may in its sole and absolute discretion decide.

  • The Organizer will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your permission, unless compelled to do so by any judicial request, requirement or court order.

 

Insurance

 

  • Participants may choose to buy or not to buy any insurance according to their personal needs.

 

Event Cancellation Arrangements

  • The Organizer reserves the right to postpone, cancel or cut short the event if any of the following situation occurs. Registration fees will not be refunded.

a) Adverse weather conditions
b) Landslides, rock falls or hill fires along the course
c) Protests
d) Force majeure i.e. due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the organizer and which renders it impossible, unsafe or impractical to hold the event. A force majeure event shall include, but is not limited to, act of God, war, hostilities, invasion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, riot, commotion, strikes, go-slows, lock outs or disorder, outbreak of disease, acts or threats of terrorism.

  • The Running event and Carnival will be canceled if the no. 3 or any of the above-mentioned warning signals are in force at 00:00 on the event day (13th November 2022). Further arrangement will be announced at closer stage. NO refund is accepted.

  • Should any of the above situation occur or the adverse weather condition happens during the race, the Organizer reserves the right to amend the race route or cancel the event. Please stay tuned with our latest updates at event website and Facebook page.

  • The Organizer reserves the final right and decision to amend or change the event format, terms & conditions or cancel the event. Any changes or contingent measures for the event announced by the Organizer and posted on the event’s website shall prevail

  • The Organizer reserves the right of final decision of the event. Any changes or contingent measures for the event announced by the organizer and posted on the Organizer’s web page shall prevail.

  • If the event is cancelled due to Novel Coronavirus Infection or venue unavailability, the arrangement will be announced on this event website.

 

Appeals

  • On the race day, the winners list will be announced on site. Appeals on the winners list must be submitted within 15 minutes after result announcements by filling in the form and handing HK$100 deposit to the Information Counter located at the Finish. The deposit will be forfeited if the appeal is unsuccessful.

  • Results of other participants will be released on or before 16th November 2022 online. Disputes or appeals regarding the results must be submitted by email to foodsport@symbol-of.com within 3 days of result announcements.

  • The Organizer reserves the right not to entertain any disputes or appeals submitted after 19th November 2022.

 

The Organizer reserves the right to amend the official rules and/or the terms and conditions of the Event. Should there be disputes over the official rules and/or the terms and conditions, the Organizer reserves the sole and absolute right to make the final decision.

In case of discrepancies between the English and the Chinese versions,

the Chinese version shall prevail.
